Kristin Fisher was hired by CNN in July 2021, as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent. As an official for the Space and Defense Department she covers everything from NASA to the recently formed Space Force as well as commercial space companies as well as space tourism. Kristin was born into the field of space as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years, she's covered space policies under Biden and Trump Administrations in FOX News. Also, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations to combat the coronavirus. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Kristin was a local television reporter for Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., which she won an Emmy Award for her work as the "one-man-band" reporter, before being hired by CBS in the year 2015. Using her skills behind the camera, Kristin created Field Mouse Films in 2014, which specialized in making documentary-style films for clients of corporate nature, including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin graduated with a Bachelors of Science in journalism from Boston University. The couple's husband and daughter live in Washington, D.C.
